THE REAL FRONTLINE is a unique documentary series that reveals the authentic stories of individuals impacted by the war in Ukraine.  Told through raw mobile footage shot from soldiers, civilians, and aid workers the series captures the unfiltered reality of war.  Just two years after Finland joined NATO we see Finnish volunteer soldiers fighting on the Ukrainian frontline and through their eyes, we experience the personal cost and emotional toll of a conflict that is reshaping the world order.

Using mobile phone footage recorded by the participants and tracked by social media, we are immersed in their daily struggles. The use of this footage adds a layer of immediacy and authenticity, allowing the audience to experience the war not through distant news reports, but through unmediated and personal perspectives. Tragically, some participants have gone missing during the project and are currently unreachable.

The Real Frontline not only documents the brutal impact of conflict but also highlights the resilience and courage of those who face it head-on. Each episode delves into personal narratives, providing a poignant look at the human spirit under extreme duress. These stories are a testament to the strength and solidarity of communities amidst chaos and devastation.
