An Englishman in New York

This biographical film follows Quentin Crisp's (John Hurt) move in the late 1970s from London to New York City, where he was embraced by celebrities and artists alike.

Crisp becomes a local and then national celebrity and writes for New York magazines. He befriends and promotes the artist Patrick Angus, struggles to find his way through the AIDS crisis and continues with his hefty schedule of public performances, acting and writing.
